About:

An ongoing collection of blogs relative to how we, as citizens, may improve the results of our system of voting. Here I am not speaking in the mechanical terms of voting, (such as showing up to vote), but in the behavioral sense (Why we vote for a particular candidate). Don’t expect these blogs to be drenched in political science. I am a just a regular citizen albeit with many years of experience…………. that is, in paying taxes. In fact, I have added the initials of my tax degree to my last name. P.R (Please Remit).

If you are searching for answers, these series of blogs are probably not what you may be looking for. I am not qualified to offer the answers to our governmental problems relative to the responsibility of the general public. I only hope to offer up the why’s for discussion.

We have been miserably ignorant and not interested too long. (In my opinion). We stand firmly behind our candidates but would fail miserably if tested concerning their public service and private sector accomplishments. Were their accomplishments owned by the candidate or a group they happened to belong to?

Therefore, our effort would be to find easier and more knowledgeable ways to help the average voter be as informed as possible. That is, provided they are interested. In the end, my personal desire for this website is to search for avenues to provide new tools (new publications, improved websites, etc.) to increase our knowledge of candidates running for office and, also, what is actually going on in our Congress. The issue will surely not have a quick fix, but the knowledge gained with the roads taken may provide some inroads to making our vote a true instrument of democracy.
